Get to know the High Maintenance Skincare professional estheticians. Owner Naomi Lewis has over 20 years of botanical medicine experience.
Chief Esthetic Officer
Daughter of a master gardener, Naomi’s lessons in botanicals began at a young age in her father’s West Seattle garden. When everyone else was plugged into time-saving, Peter Lewis was rooted in time-honored. Peter wasn’t reverting, he was pulling the old world forward and innovating for a modern world, the world of his children and grandchildren.
Naomi honed her interest in nature, beauty, and culture with a raw balance of earnest study and free-minded creativity. She has studied, apprenticed and practiced in the arts of aesthetics, midwifery, and botanical medicine for more than 20 years. Naomi Lewis, a true, born Seattleite, travels the world and brings the best back to the west, her every High Maintenance treatment an original herbal innovation of science and intuition, and always personalized, always ultra luxe.
Mericke’s young life amid the cornfields of the rural midwest grew her strong, kind, and helpful with a deep respect for nature. Washington State became her home in 1987, connecting her to its spectacular contrast of mountains and sea, and encouraging her inclinations toward nature and balance.
Mericke obtained her training from The Euro Institute of Skincare, and feeds her curiosity for excellence by taking classes offered by Yon-Ka, and lectures by the Northwest Aesthetician’s Guild. She puts her knowledge of homeopathy and flower remedies to use in everyday ways that bolster her family’s health and well- being. Mericke has been building solid relationships at High Maintenance since 2005, whilst growing her family of two young children with her husband Greg, in a grounded way that makes her mother proud.
Nicole Lytle studied Theater Arts, and for six years acting was her full-time gig, right here in Seattle. She traded her place in the lights for a place behind the scenes with High Maintenance, getting Seattleites ready for their close-up since 2011. For those of us who find clever convo more relaxing than silence, Nicole can keep a cultural current flowing on any subject, and her engaging chit-chat is a signature part of her craft. She’s thoughtful, focused on results, and sends clients on their way refreshed, beautiful, and happy.
Nicole and her husband travel epically, enjoy Seattle’s food culture, and follow the dailies. She’s coming to her life with an art for attention, and what happens is that Nicole makes natural, meaningful connections her clients get to bask in like A-listers.
Mireille graduated from the Greenwood Academy to practice asthetics beginning in 2003, and she keeps up with her interest in the time-honored rituals of beauty with continuing education courses by legendary skincare giants the likes of Jane Iredale, Yon-Ka, and Dermed. Mireille creates an environment of ease, and an enviable set of brows. She transplanted from the east, but now Seattle claims her as its own. Mireille, her husband, and two young sons live, garden, and rock out to old music in Ballard. She might offer you a tip on trawling flea markets for treasures if you’re likewise inclined.
Kelsi developed a deep appreciation for the impact skin appearance has on self-esteem from an early affliction with cystic acne, during her pre-adolescent years, long before a blemish was any of her friends’ concern. At an age idealized as safekeeping secrets to our truest self, Kelsi ignited an enduring compassion, and grew herself up with a rare balance of softness and strength.
Graduate of the Euro Institute, Kelsi has been treating High Maintenance Clients to her kindness, wisdom and indulgence since 2012. You really know Kelsi’s enduring grace and strength when she speaks of her family life; she, her husband, and their young son spend many weekends balancing the business of urban life, complete with the renovation of their Burien home, by unplugging from the network, and into the true story of their family, nature, and its rhythms, Kelsi nourishes her family with time spent at their cozy cabin in Winthrop, WA, or in the desert landscapes of Chelan.
Tigest, our head concierge and resident makeup specialist and Pacific Northwest native, gets her name from her mother and father’s native Ethiopia. In Amharic Tigest means “patient,” a virtue our Tigest seems an endless fountain, along with mad makeup and lash skills. Since graduating Ballard High, Tigest continues her academics at Seattle Central College. Evidence of her inner calm is in how she crafts her personal life: fresh bouquets from Sunday Farmers Market to grace her space, the girl power happy hour.
